Thanks. Sorry about that where I work they beat us and force us to use
Exchange. I used to use this really nice program called Groupwise, apparently it was too reliable.

} I've heard that you can also use

} tried it (I have my own home grown scripts).

I read life with qmail, compiled and set it up works fine. I learned a ton from that including a little about make files and compiling which is definitely not one of my strong points. I started building the srpm's for the toaster. Everything was going well till I hit the qmail-toaster rpm. It was requesting libopenssl0.9.7-devel (unfortunately mandrake 9.0 came with 9.6). I thought ok fine I'll find the newer rpm and install it, well it requires openssl0.9.7 which requires libc.so.6 ok so after doing some searching I found that libc is part of glibc, so I installed glibc. So great now I can install openssl, well it still says I need to install libc. So I rebuilt the rpm database, still says I need to install it. Now I'm a little stuck, I was thinking about doing a reinstall and including the development packages this time.

} From what I hear the qinstall program will basically do the

} With the software above I've been able to help a few small

} server (Dual PII 400, 1GB, Mirror OS Drivers (Raid 1, IDE) and
} mail software and 100GB raid 1 IDE drives on a co-located
} server in CA. I have serious doubts that his $6000 solutions
} is going to do that (Heck, I only charged them $3000 to
} setup the server and install the software for them!).

I think I may do a reinstall and take a look at qinstall. Well the $6000 program only handles or has license for 5000 users. And they are talking about specing a dual Xeon Machine with 2 gigs of ram, with around 100 gig raid 5. I told them the server hardware was complete overkill if all they are going to do is 5000 accounts. I also said that if we go with a Linux solution 1 we won't be limited by licensing and two with a machine like that we could probably handle everyone in Summit County. Which are about 130,000 accounts, although k-5 are probably not going to have e-mail accounts.

Thanks for all your help! Hey your not into rock music by any chance are you?

Cyrus.

Do you need help?X
