As a point of fact, we don't track OS or third party bugs [ZoneAlarm cites incompatibility with NetMeeting as well, indicating this is a pretty deep problem in their software or the WinSock layer.] Sorry if you disagree. Reopen if you have a patch that fixes the problem, or we can reproduce without ZoneAlarm installed. Do not reopen, otherwise. However, feel free to annotate with any useful details, especially ZoneAlarm's bug fix release. I also disagree with your MPM assessment, it's only half of the issue (most of the networking code is in the APR layer, not the MPM, although the MPM does manage the listener pool.) I'm reverting to All to reflect that it might be an interaction between components. To Gary Loescher's question; there is a report [different in nature, but a problem] in bug #8729 reported against Sygate Firewall. I have seen no reports of other firewall software misbehaving. Not trusting in firewall software, I'm afraid my only point of reference are external appliances. If you use an external DSL router or similar, you aught to configure it rather than entrusting WinSock-based software on a real box.
