Anybody who wants to use these files can easily add the mime type to their local copy of mime.types -- having it distributed by us is mostly just a convenience issue. Unfortunately we get countless requests for types to be added, and the default mime.types file would quickly become huge if we didn't put some kind of restriction on it; namely that it has to be IANA-sanctioned. Shrug.. Thanks for your input, though! Let us know when IANA approves it and in it will go. =-]
