  1. Isn't there any way of not requiring the installer to do the uninstall. (Forgive me, I know nothing of msi.)
  2. The whole "old" directory concept is death to mirrors. Shouldn't we be using symlinks like suggested here: http://www.apache.org/dev/mirrors.html
