Note that there was an error in the Configuration.tmpl file distributed with 1.1b4 - the line which said

-Dconnect=Rconnect -Dselect=Rselect -Dgethstbyname=Rgethostbyname

should have really said

-Dconnect=Rconnect -Dselect=Rselect -Dgethostbyname=Rgethostbyname

(i.e., there was a typo in that line).

Hopefully that's what the problem was....
