I seem to have misled everyone unintentionally. I didn't mean to suggest book format - only that a user's guide in plain language, and which follows a functional structure (i.e., "This module/directive is what you need to ...") rather than the programmatic one the existing online docs take, would IMHO help make Apache overall more understandable and therefore more easily acceptable to people at large.
