ok... this sounds logical and resonable..

Can assume that just about 95% or more of people who want a gui would be happy with a HTML interface? So if we did go with a API that is built into the daemon (spawned to a separate process on startup), Would we need a completely separate httpd running for the HTML interface? or could we build this HTML interface into the API daemon itself (the daemon is listening to API requests on one port and HTML on another)...
