here in full force PPPoE makes that very easy, since it's a radius
attribute to track it. It's not going anywhere. Millions and millions
of users on PPPoE with 1000s more every single day. Cable test beds for
PPPoE, most new wireless I've seen is PPPoE, etc, etc.
I don't see why a lower MTU is an issue, since that is set by the PPPoE
client and does not cause any breaks, I really don't see an issue there.

PPPoE is a big problem and not a solution, there are major disadvantages
with pppoe, for example the lower MTU, no multicast and so on... The
best solution is to use Ethernet, when using flatrate there is no
reason for the users to login.
There isn't any reason to use it since you still haveto use specific
clients with Win2k...
Hopefully PPPoE is now on it's way out of the market.
