Hi,
I am really stuck. Although i'm not a linux newbie, i've never had to setup ppp. Now i have to setup not only ppp, but pppoe server, as far as i have understood, there is only one server for linux rp pppoe, server, unfortunatelly the docs shipped with it, are insufficient, and i can't really get how to set up this as a server, moreover with some advanced settings. I also have compiled the kernel mod pppoe, but as for now the page of the developer is dead, and it turnes out that i can't find any docs on the net (so if someone has them, i'll really appreciate emailing them to me). I really want to use pppoe kernel mod, but i'm not aware what and how should i do.

I also understood that FreeBSD, has pppoe server shipping with it. Unfortunatelly, I haven't use much of BSDs. so i am also stuck there, anyway if a BSD is the better solution, i will use BSD, as far as i can receive some help or documentation (really prefer the docs).

The last question i have is can i set up static IPs to clients while dialin the pppoe server, so that i can do some ip accounting. I know this one is off topic, but i hope you'll be of some assistance.

I want to thank everyone in advance for the help that they will provide

thanks, Iliyan ILF Stoyanov

P.S. Unfortunatelly I can't afford any commercial solution, such as mikrotik or ServPoET, so i have to stick to linux or bsd solution. Received on Fri Apr 11 12:35:33 2003
