Bug#448754: /usr/bin/htpasswd: please give batchable option
From: Marc Haber <mh+debian-bugs(at)zugschlus.de>
Date: Wed Oct 31 2007 - 11:19:52 EDT
Hi, the man page for htpasswd discourages use of -b, because the password is visible on the command line. That's ok. However, how is one supposed to set a htpasswd password from a shell script (like a package postinst) if -b is discouraged? Piping a password to htpasswd does not seem to work either. Please advise and document.
Greetings
