The debian-installer team would like to fix a few issues that are still present in the Etch version of d-i. Before starting the work on updating the packages, I would like to get feedback from the stable release managers on those candidate patches:
Simple one liner fixing a few crashes of the installation process. http://people.debian.org/~lunar/d-i-etch-r2/cdebconf-etch-r2-r47633.diff
This one is much more invasive, but has been in the daily builds for a while without arising any problems. It will fixes a few installation crashing due to out cdebconf filling the memory after displaying too many questions (e.g. complex partioning setups). http://people.debian.org/~lunar/d-i-etch-r2/cdebconf-etch-r2-r47682.diff http://people.debian.org/~lunar/d-i-etch-r2/cdebconf-etch-r2-r47687.diff
http://people.debian.org/~lunar/d-i-etch-r2/cdebconf-etch-r2-r47689.diff
http://people.debian.org/~lunar/d-i-etch-r2/cdebconf-etch-r2-r48821.diff
This one fixes a hang in the installer at the pkgsel/tasksel stage that shows up pretty badly on multi-processor systems. http://people.debian.org/~lunar/d-i-etch-r2/debconf-etch-r2-r2214.diff
This really simple patch will fix debootstrap to be able to use bzip2 compressed files from our mirrors. http://people.debian.org/~lunar/d-i-etch-r2/debootstrap-etch-r2-r48889.diff Thanks for your reviews. Cheers,
