No objection to the idea, but better make the patch: dfbinfo=$(ls /usr/lib/directfb-*/bin/dfbinfo 2>/dev/null || true) if [ -x "$dfbinfo" ]; then

        $dfbinfo 2>&1 | addinfo $dfbinfo
fi
