Hi again,

I double-checked the install CDs and it appears you were right: I burned the same image twice... looks like I need some vacation.

Burning and booting a fresh etch ISO leads to correct detection of both the RAID controller and the Gigabit interfaces.

However, the 20071117 lenny snapshot does exhibit this problem -- maybe this is a known issue, but it appears the installer can't find any kernel module:

WARNING **: no packages for kernel in archive

The install logs are attached.
