Package: debian-installer
Version: 20070308

This bug report is for .ISO files available as of Monday, October 15th 2007. It should be noted that this particular set of bugs has been effecting the debian testing images for over a month.

Do you need help?X

1.) http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/weekly-builds/i386/iso-cd/debian-testing-i386-CD-1.iso

This image boots, however no module packages except for nic-shared-modules are available. The module package at least matches the running kernel of the installer.

List of all modules in the initrd and udeb packages on the cdrom: http://rafb.net/p/jLQPRG48.txt

2.) http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/daily-builds/daily/arch-latest/amd64/iso-cd/debian-testing-amd64-netinst.iso

This image boots, it has udeb packages for the standard module packages. Packages modules do not match the running kernel.

3.) http://http.us.debian.org/debian/dists/lenny/main/installer-amd64/current/images/netboot/mini.iso

This image boots, up until recently module udeb packages matching the running kernel were listed in debian-installer/Packages.gz and a full and normal install could happen. Now the running kernel is 2.6.18-5 and Packages.gz refers to 2.6.18-4 module udeb packages.

Of course, I can install from an etch CD and upgrade. Thats not a problem, nor is it the solution to this bug report. I just hope this bug report resolves to working d-i images that can be used for a full installation.

Changes in the svn version of debian-cd caused mirroring of the amd64 daily d-i images to break. I've fixed the mirroring script to cope and things now seem to be working OK again.
