fuzzyOCR + ocrad?

Greetings,

Looking to add fuzzyOCR to help spamassassin: fuzzyOCR's dependencies include gocr -or- ocrad.

It appears that gocr is mentioned more in the fuzzyOCR docs, but that ocrad is the more actively maintained in Debian, so I'm inclined to go with ocrad. Anyone with any experience to share?

Any other horror/success stories?
