so debian-isp tends to get the production-server questions.

which is not necessarily a bad thing, as long as they're somewhat vaguely related to things that an ISP is likely to want/need to do, and especially if any answers are slanted towards an ISP environment.

if there was enough interest, it might be a good thing to have a "debian-server" list dedicated to questions and discussions about production servers in "professional" environments (as opposed to a home user running dhcp or samba or whatever on their home LAN).

OTOH, i don't think the occasional non-ISP server question here degrades the SNR. some of them are interesting and i learn useful stuff without having to wade through all the gnome/kde/user-application questions on debian-user.
