for more info, here a few things from my system:

pc3:/var/log# lsmod | grep 100

eepro100               29232  0

pc3:/var/log# dmesg | grep eth0

ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth0: link is not ready

pc3:/var/log# more /etc/modules
# /etc/modules: kernel modules to load at boot time.

#e1000
#e2100

e100
eepro100
loop

I've commented e1000 and e2100 and added e100 to /etc/modules but obviously it doesn't help.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Just don't know how to do next... :(
