I see they are available in Sarge, and I have questions about installing one codebase and using from several different virtual host URLs. I'd like to know more about how the install goes using the deb packages. What are you asked during installation, ie do they give you a chance to install to virtual hosts? I've read the support docs about how to do that starting with the tar/gz package, but I haven't been successful doing it that way for multiple virtual hosts on the same server, AND I know it would be generally more desirable to install from the sarge packages with a Debian package manager etc. I'm guessing the deb packages install and then you are just directed to the /gallery2/install directory after which you proceed with the web installer like I do starting from the tar.gz package? Or does Debian do it a different way? Thanks any comments about gallery2 on virtual hosts. - John ------=_NextPart_000_0003_01C7B6AC.AB257F60 Content-Type: application/x-pkcs7-signature; name="smime.p7s" Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="smime.p7s" MIAGCSqGSIb3DQEHAqCAMIACAQExCzAJBgUrDgMCGgUAMIAGCSqGSIb3DQEHAQAAoIIIzDCCAlQw ggG9oAMCAQICEF0oPjSQS6j/Jg3J/PZMi3YwDQYJKoZIhvcNAQEFBQAwYjELMAkGA1UEBhMCWkEx JTAjBgNVBAoTHFRoYXd0ZSBDb25zdWx0aW5nIChQdHkpIEx0ZC4xLDAqBgNVBAMTI1RoYXd0ZSBQ ZXJzb25hbCBGcmVlbWFpbCBJc3N1aW5nIENBMB4XDTA3MDMyNTAyMTkxOVoXDTA4MDMyNDAyMTkx OVowQTEfMB0GA1UEAxMWVGhhd3RlIEZyZWVtYWlsIE1lbWJlcjEeMBwGCSqGSIb3DQEJARYPam9o bkB3YTlhbHMuY29tMIGfMA0GCSqGSIb3DQEBAQUAA4GNADCBiQKBgQC41SwZgZIqRZJd6KF1KZKA 7tMUGvKx4m2LAtxWxHSt2eYcfebzcyxrvt8OwiuZrYyQ7CC9MSZPo73FAerQJ9wrX5oyIV2PXt+N QGfkBHKpYyCqddqvcgjVFkLA7IHcE9SYFhav6hnix4AgW+o5a/jN/S0VsgGkT0vY2mPzK69/6wID AQABoywwKjAaBgNVHREEEzARgQ9qb2huQHdhOWFscy5jb20wDAYDVR0TAQH/BAIwADANBgkqhkiG 9w0BAQUFAAOBgQCo+TcWNhQwBOl90yRvRk/q+38xlWOlI5pEnk8XlhlFQwYYyELkR2lFechNQbME TzA5g7oBmzJk41zCURe6twcSAqQKb/3S5pnCxcajhOSMfg+E/jnPspisNPvPs1y/uAWOsVtrKTA2 LlYYf3LudfwPFhOFffpSOqeGt1Bw0pLSqDCCAy0wggKWoAMCAQICAQAwDQYJKoZIhvcNAQEEBQAw gdExCzAJBgNVBAYTAlpBMRUwEwYDVQQIEwxXZXN0ZXJuIENhcGUxEjAQBgNVBAcTCUNhcGUgVG93 bjEaMBgGA1UEChMRVGhhd3RlIENvbnN1bHRpbmcxKDAmBgNVBAsTH0NlcnRpZmljYXRpb24gU2Vy dmljZXMgRGl2aXNpb24xJDAiBgNVBAMTG1RoYXd0ZSBQZXJzb25hbCBGcmVlbWFpbCBDQTErMCkG CSqGSIb3DQEJARYccGVyc29uYWwtZnJlZW1haWxAdGhhd3RlLmNvbTAeFw05NjAxMDEwMDAwMDBa Fw0yMDEyMzEyMzU5NTlaMIHRMQswCQYDVQQGEwJaQTEVMBMGA1UECBMMV2VzdGVybiBDYXBlMRIw EAYDVQQHEwlDYXBlIFRvd24xGjAYBgNVBAoTEVRoYXd0ZSBDb25zdWx0aW5nMSgwJgYDVQQLEx9D ZXJ0aWZpY2F0aW9uIFNlcnZpY2VzIERpdmlzaW9uMSQwIgYDVQQDExtUaGF3dGUgUGVyc29uYWwg RnJlZW1haWwgQ0ExKzApBgkqhkiG9w0BCQEWHHBlcnNvbmFsLWZyZWVtYWlsQHRoYXd0ZS5jb20w gZ8wDQYJKoZIhvcNAQEBBQADgY0AMIGJAoGBANRp19SwlGRbcelH2AxRtupykbCEXn0tDY97Et+F JXUodDpCLGMnn5V7S+9+GYcdhuqj3bnOlmQawhRuRKx85o/oTQ9xH0A4pgCjh3j2+ZSGXq3qwF52 69kUo11uenwMpUtVfwYZKX+emibVars4JAhqmMex2qOYkf152+VaxBy5AgMBAAGjEzARMA8GA1Ud EwEB/wQFMAMBAf8wDQYJKoZIhvcNAQEEBQADgYEAx+ySfk749ZalZ2IqpPBNEWDQb41gWGGsJrtS NVwIzzD7qEqWih9iQiOMFw/0umScF6xHKd+dmF7SbGBxXKKs3Hnj524ARx+1DSjoAp3kmv0T9KbZ fLH43F8jJgmRgHPQFBveQ6mDJfLmnC8Vyv6mq4oHdYsM3VGEa+T40c53ooEwggM/MIICqKADAgEC AgENMA0GCSqGSIb3DQEBBQUAMIHRMQswCQYDVQQGEwJaQTEVMBMGA1UECBMMV2VzdGVybiBDYXBl MRIwEAYDVQQHEwlDYXBlIFRvd24xGjAYBgNVBAoTEVRoYXd0ZSBDb25zdWx0aW5nMSgwJgYDVQQL Ex9DZXJ0aWZpY2F0aW9uIFNlcnZpY2VzIERpdmlzaW9uMSQwIgYDVQQDExtUaGF3dGUgUGVyc29u YWwgRnJlZW1haWwgQ0ExKzApBgkqhkiG9w0BCQEWHHBlcnNvbmFsLWZyZWVtYWlsQHRoYXd0ZS5j b20wHhcNMDMwNzE3MDAwMDAwWhcNMTMwNzE2MjM1OTU5WjBiMQswCQYDVQQGEwJaQTElMCMGA1UE ChMcVGhhd3RlIENvbnN1bHRpbmcgKFB0eSkgTHRkLjEsMCoGA1UEAxMjVGhhd3RlIFBlcnNvbmFs IEZyZWVtYWlsIElzc3VpbmcgQ0EwgZ8wDQYJKoZIhvcNAQEBBQADgY0AMIGJAoGBAMSmPFVzVftO ucqZWh5owHUEcJ3f6f+jHuy9zfVb8hp2vX8MOmHyv1HOAdTlUAow1wJjWiyJFXCO3cnwK4Vaqj9x VsuvPAsH5/EfkTYkKhPPK9Xzgnc9A74r/rsYPge/QIACZNenprufZdHFKlSFD0gEf6e20TxhBEAe ZBlyYLf7AgMBAAGjgZQwgZEwEgYDVR0TAQH/BAgwBgEB/wIBADBDBgNVHR8EPDA6MDigNqA0hjJo dHRwOi8vY3JsLnRoYXd0ZS5jb20vVGhhd3RlUGVyc29uYWxGcmVlbWFpbENBLmNybDALBgNVHQ8E BAMCAQYwKQYDVR0RBCIwIKQeMBwxGjAYBgNVBAMTEVByaXZhdGVMYWJlbDItMTM4MA0GCSqGSIb3 DQEBBQUAA4GBAEiM0VCD6gsuzA2jZqxnD3+vrL7CF6FDlpSdf0whuPg2H6otnzYvwPQcUCCTcDz9 reFhYsPZOhl+hLGZGwDFGguCdJ4lUJRix9sncVcljd2pnDmOjCBPZV+V2vf3h9bGCE6u9uo05RAa WzVNd+NWIXiC3CEZNd4ksdMdRv9dX2VPMYIB2TCCAdUCAQEwdjBiMQswCQYDVQQGEwJaQTElMCMG A1UEChMcVGhhd3RlIENvbnN1bHRpbmcgKFB0eSkgTHRkLjEsMCoGA1UEAxMjVGhhd3RlIFBlcnNv bmFsIEZyZWVtYWlsIElzc3VpbmcgQ0ECEF0oPjSQS6j/Jg3J/PZMi3YwCQYFKw4DAhoFAKCBujAY BgkqhkiG9w0BCQMxCwYJKoZIhvcNAQcBMBwGCSqGSIb3DQEJBTEPFw0wNzA2MjUwMjExNTJaMCMG CSqGSIb3DQEJBDEWBBT93mHXSebeEzAXtuiNpfYQ9ucj+DBbBgkqhkiG9w0BCQ8xTjBMMAoGCCqG SIb3DQMHMA4GCCqGSIb3DQMCAgIAgDANBggqhkiG9w0DAgIBQDAHBgUrDgMCBzANBggqhkiG9w0D AgIBKDAHBgUrDgMCHTANBgkqhkiG9w0BAQEFAASBgCE8fyO46YzjxshJHYMTwmz4zaO+RwugG6l8 dDsySrq/IIrgINKeJuaL3y3WC45WYdcBfH75S5Q0m6MP4HuPnwZ3e3uuuezqmEG1AtCnnn9YkcaY nsTvRLRKtJdB4UsJb9HQGCeWghi4uG5iC0Uh99Pgl8qmkQnEju8mNFAG8RArAAAAAAAA ------=_NextPart_000_0003_01C7B6AC.AB257F60--

fail2ban is designed to ban ip addresses when someone tries to authenticate against *your* box nd fails the specified number of times. It is generally used for things like banning ip's that are dictionary attacking you ssh server or something along those lines. I'm not sure its really suited to do what you want.=20 Does the authentication failure get to /var/log/exim4/paniclog? that thing is empty unless there is a real problem, so just checking the file size of panic log would be simple and straightforward.=20 --cgV9kgQ4vUfIQsP4 Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: Digital signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFGfyp4aIeIEqwil4YRAkVLAKCudWSUPE+w+ndNfXDdn04PjAf3DgCg0iw7 sQCN1qNqfPBo6NWFt2BA1w4= =hOa4 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --cgV9kgQ4vUfIQsP4--

I have two machines with Nvidia cards. I've tried the nv driver, and while it's perfectly adequate for general use, it won't drive the video resolution above 1024x768 (in my experience), and color depth is stuck at 16bits. Also, if you have to have TV out, using the Nvidia driver may be the only way to do that. I didn't find any way to make the nv driver activate the TV out system back when I was trying to make it work. Unfortunately, it didn't work well enough for me anyway, I expect to go to the MythTV forums when I build my TV server to find out what video-out cards work for other people. For me, the color depth, 3D acceleration, better font-size control with DPMS, and the native 1400x1050 and 1280x800 monitor resolutions are un-beatable combinations in favor of using a non-free binary driver like the Nvidia. number your internal lan addresses in a different subnet. Use 192.168.2.x for your lan. Then, because the modem is on a different subnet, it should "just work". At least in my lan it works that way. My dsl modem is accessible as 192.168.0.1 while my lan is 192.168.1.x. also, you can sometimes (depending on how its all configured) access the modem by browsing to your *public ip* which resolves to your modem, but since you're coming form the inside, it gives you the configuration.=20 hth. Message-Id: <200706250319.22355.meltedrainbow@adelphia.net> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline I've had this problem for a while, and I can't seem to solve or even fully diagnose what's wrong. The 2 most common symptoms are: 1) random segmentation faults during compiling. It's most apparent (and annoying) during long compiles. There's sometimes an assembler message instead, complaining about unknown variables or junk at end of line. In the error message it's often apparent that something got corrupted by one character. The file is usually a header and it isn't corrupted on disk. 2) occasionally the system goes wild and thrashing, sucking up nearly all cpu. Sometimes it causes the machine to lock up, but usually I can kill the process that triggered the problem and everything settles down after 10 seconds or so. If I restart the process, sometimes everything's okay, sometimes it goes wild again. Is this a familiar problem? Is it the mobo or ram? Or is it a software issue messing up virtual memory? My bios is updated, and I've tried several kernels in the 2.6 line, including a couple of custom compiles. The problem exists even in single-user mode, so it doesn't have anything to do with the windowing system. I'm currently using kernel 2.6.21, etch amd-64, ext3 fs, and sata disk (WD Cavalier, I think). Please help :(

I've done it successfully to other accounts on the localhost, but I don't know about your own accoutn, maybe that causes a problem?=20

did you get some output from this command?=20

our results are the same to here: =2E..

and then mine just works: =2E.. debug1: Next authentication method: publickey debug1: Trying private key: /home/andrew/.ssh/identity debug1: Offering public key: /home/andrew/.ssh/id_rsa debug1: Server accepts key: pkalg ssh-rsa blen 277 debug1: read PEM private key done: type RSA debug1: Authentication succeeded (publickey). debug1: channel 0: new [client-session] debug1: Entering interactive session. debug1: Sending environment. debug1: Sending env LANG =3D en_US.UTF-8

without seeing some output from ssh-copy-id above or some confirmation that the command acutally did something, I'd guess that was the problem...=20 or perhaps something else in sshd_config or in a local ssh config (something in ~/.ssh/ somewhere)

I don't think the versions are the issue. pubkey authentication has worked for a long time... This is probably related: http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/pkg-sysvinit-commits/2006-November/000923.html "It is useful to disable this on machines with the root file system in NFS until ifup from ifupdown work proberly in such setup." I did not research this problem to root cause but on the surface it appears that it is related to your issue.

Right. That is a bad side-effect. Instead the client should block and wait for the server.

Glad to hear that the default is the one that works for you.

I thought you were talking about the sync/async option. See this reference for more information. http://nfs.sourceforge.net/nfs-howto/ar01s05.html#sync_versus_async

I think this would be covered by the 'initscripts' package. You may want to look to see if this is already reported in the BTS. http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?pkg=initscripts;dist=unstable Bob

I like to know what is the simplest way to tell apt-get not to install exim. I have try to google, but most of the stuff I am reading makes it sound like you can't tell apt-get not to install app. Payne End of debian-user-digest Digest V2007 Issue #1839 ************************************************** Received on Mon Jun 25 00:19:17 2007
