How to you check the output of "gpg --check-sigs"? I Googled a bit and it=
seems
that an exclamation mark ("!") indicates a successful check. Is that true=
?
eg
$ gpg --check-sigs --keyring /usr/share/keyrings/debian-backports-keyring=
.gpg
/usr/share/keyrings/debian-backports-keyring.gpg
pub 1024D/16BA136C 2005-08-21

sub 2048g/5B82CECE 2005-08-21
sig! 16BA136C 2005-08-21 Backports.org Archive Key
<ftp-master@backports.org>
I wanted to find a generic method of importing and checking keys for a nu=
mber of
unofficial deb sites. It is difficult to find the key ids on some of the
websites. One thing they all had in common was having a keyring package. =
I tried
backports.org, debian-multimedia.org and debian-unofficial.org. So, here =
is my
generic method:
- Add the appropriate line to /etc/apt/sources.list.
- Update with apt-get or aptitude.
- Install the appropriate keyring package (eg debian-multimedia-keyring)=
. The
keyrings all end up in /etc/share/keyrings/${package-name}.gpg
- Check the signatures IMMEDIATELY eg
$ gpg --check-sigs --keyring /usr/share/keyrings/debian-multimedia-keyrin=
g.gpg
- If the check fails,
a.purge the keyring package and check that the keyring subdirectory has b=
een
removed from /etc/share/keyrings/.
b. You can still install packages from the suspect repository, but there =
will be
a warning. To be safe, remove the repository line from /etc/apt/sources.l=
ist.

Hi Martin,
thanks a lot, now i can see my files!
But the behavior is a little bit strange. Maybe its a caching issue.
Without the 'All' option i couldn't see any files.
After checking the option, the files where there. Then i unchecked the option again, but the files remain... Well that's better
than the other way round ;)

At some point in the kernel development the megaraid module got renamed
from something like megaraid2 to megaraid(something like that). You may
have to force the new module to be included in the initrd. I did this by
adding megaraid and megaraid2 to /etc/initramfs-tools/modules.

Well, you don't have to be attached always to a packaged version,
if you want, find a source package and build for your own, I've already compiled eaccelerator this way and has no problem at all.

You need to put such packages in 'hold' state, using aptitude or
through the CLI running for example:
echo "package hold" | dpkg --set-selections
To check a package state, run:
dpkg --get-selections package
package is of course the package name. ;)

Hi,
Thanks all,
Setting '=' in deselect works. But the selection does not perculate to
apt-get program.
I tried echo "hal hold" | sudo dpkg --set-selections
This worked. This also solves the dependencies
once the top level package is selected to hold then the other packages
dependent are automatically put on hold !
As usual ! debian's apt-get is the top package manager i have worked
with !

Hi Martin,
actually this is not a debian related question...
If you post your zone file and tell us what version, ip etc. your server

I note that your NS entries have TTL of 172800. That's two days and
you may just have to wait that long or even longer for changes to
propagate. Otherwise I can't find a problem with your data.
