I just installed the tool and selected the keyboard I am using, PC105, the
problem still exists after reboot the system.
I'm wondering how could that be the cause of the X failure, sounds strange.
Now I can startX manually, but it is not what I want.
During the startup, the error message still be coming out, and also at the
end of the login, "no IPV6 routers present". But I don't think I did some
thing related to ipv6.
Thank you guys. Really appreciate it if you could help!

The original message in this thread referred to this URL:
http://ftp.debian.org.
I'm having the same problem but the URL is security.debian.org.
One reply suggested the following:
gpg --keyserver wwwkeys.eu.pgp.net --recv-keys 6070D3A1
gpg --export --armor 6070D3A1 | apt-key add -
Another reply suggested:
gpg --recv-key A70DAF536070D3A1
gpg --export A70DAF536070D3A1|apt-key add -
When I run the first line of either pair, the command times out after
2 minutes and returns the following message:
gpg: requesting key ....
gpg: keyserver timed out
gpg: keyserver receive failed: keyserver error
Any help will be appreciated.

To query a key this way, you have to be able to connect to the
keyserver on the hkp port (which is number 11371 I think). Do your
firewall, if you have one, allow this ?

Yes (this is how I do a quick check on a binary w/o going to find
compiled options):
$ ldd /usr/sbin/mysqld | grep wrap

It is the *daemon* that you wish to wrap that is the first argument in
hosts.[allow, deny] - in this case mysqld. Your network/netmask looks
fine. 'man hosts.allow'

And what is the content of "/etc/adjtime"?
I ask, because the behaviour of "hwclock" depends on the contents of
this file (man hwclock).
On my system "/etc/adjtime" contains as the last of three lines "UTC",
in "/etc/default/rcS" there is "UTC=3Dyes". So the hardware clock is run
in UTC. The system time zone is defined by "/etc/timezone" and the
summer time setting by "/etc/localtime". Both files can be reconfigured
in the Debian way:
dpkg-reconfigure tzdata
--=20

The last line of /etc/adjtime is "LOCAL".
In fact, after some Google searching, I wonder if the problem doesn't
come from the way the kernel access /dev/rtc. I've read somewhere taht
you qometimes have to add the "--directisa" to hwclock. I've tried and
it seems to work. I will see tomorrow when I'll restart my machine.

My mistake. I used the perl statement above in another script. That
script does the searching/matching. So disregard that last question.

I do have a very limited knowledge of Linux and the distros. I bought
YDL 3 years ago when I first got into Linux OS because I had 3 old-
world PowerMacs and I wanted to start learning how to use Linux to
network. However, I never had any success in getting the old worlds
to even install, and I tried many, many times! Since I had a copy of
YDL, I bought a new world IMac and had no trouble installing YDL, but
I have not used it much. Since then, I have been dual-booting FC2 and
XP on my favorite desktop, but I rarely use FC2 - I just did the dual-
boot to see if I could do it right and have a Linux partition to play
around with.
Now, I am about to graduate from the Univ of Memphis with a degree
from our business college (I dont know why) in Information Systems,
but in all honesty, we have had very little hands-on experience with
Linux. So, I want to set up a network in my room, consisting of
whatever hardware needed (I have a lot of old stuff and am willing to
buy more if needed) and learn the skills I will need to achieve my
goal, which is to be a Sys Admin and maintain a network.
As a part-time job, I have about 50 customers (mostly over the age of
60) that I do at-home computer support and teaching. My job consists
mostly of assisting them with email (attachments and such), web
browsing and just general computer usage. All of this is Xp or Vista,
of course, and therefore I maintain a laptop running Vista (which I
regret buying) and a desktop running XP so that I can stay current.
All of this is to say that if I had a choice, I would run everything
Linux...but I have to try to stay current with MS for the sake of my
part-time job, which has paid a lot of my bills recently.

You've likely tried all the normal tricks for a printer, but, just in
case, here are my generic suggestions (I'm not familiar with the
specific printer):
Check out http://localhost:631/, and see if you can configure your
printer there (assuming you have cupsys installed).
Install printconf, and run it in your terminal as root.
Install foomatic-filters-ppds and/or linuxprinting.org-ppds, and try
http://localhost:631/ and/or printconf once again.
Good luck,
Mark

but no sound. The help for tvtime stated that I could use sox, with
the following command:
sox -r 32000 -w -t ossdsp /dev/dsp2 -t ossdsp /dev/dsp
This works, provided I run the command "modprobe btaudio" first.
However, it is so cluttered with noise as to make it useless. Anyone
have any ideas how I can eliminate the noise?
I'm using Etch.
Thanks,
Mark

I am not able to change the default fonts in Firefox, in both my AMD64
systems. The problem is absent in I386 systems. All these systems are
running Debian Etch. The AMD64 systems simply ignore the default font
setting--both font family, and font size.
I have been using Linux, and Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox, since 2000, but I am
unable to figure this out. No back-ports are present. I created a new
profile, but it has the same problem. Google search does not show any
similar problems; has nobody else faced this? Kindly suggest a solution.

I don't think that this is related to the two Xorg processes. I see the
same warning with my Intel Q965 graphics card, simply because it shows
up under two bus addresses in lspci, but I don't have two Xorg processes
running.
Maybe the full Xorg log (/var/log/Xorg.0.log) has more clues.
Maybe the fglrx driver is to blame; did you already check if you still
see two Xorg processes with the basic "vesa" driver enabled instead?

Changed module load order in the new kernels and/or a problem with your
/etc/udev/rules.d/z25_persistent-net.rules. You have to make sure that
this file has exactly one entry for each NIC in your computer and that
the correct MAC address is associated with the each eth* name.

the radius log is 2G
After removing, radius can start again
1/ ls the limitation in debian or in freeradius

if it is in debian, can I increase the file size
limit?
I am using debian "Linux radius 2.4.27-2-386 #1 Wed
Aug 17 09:33:35 UTC 2005 i686 GNU/Linux"
2/ how can I avoid it but we still keep the log file?
