Normal LaTex is relatively easy to read. There's a package/script somewhere that will remove all markup from it to give you plain text.

You may want to see if there's a script that will turn latex or dvi into wiki.

Do you need more help?X

If neither script exists, it shouldn't be hard to write in your script-lanuage-of-choice (or even something like Ada if you want it compiled). As always, start with the documentation and write the script to match.

Search for alternates in the mutt manual. There's a whole section on "Alternative addresses", and that should probably solve your problem. HTH. Have a look at 3.10 of the manual. i.e: folder-hook . alternates andreimpopescu@gmail.com The alternates can be filled with regex like: folder-hook . alternates "(elimar\.riesebieter@t-online\.de|elpahe@gmx\.de|(riesebie|er)@lxtec\.(de|net|org|com)|riesebie@gmail\.com)" Elimar -- Numeric stability is probably not all that important when you're guessing;-)

I have never noticed the "+" flag until I just sent myself an email. What's the point? All the mail is for me. If its from a list to which I am subscribed, it shows as from the list name; otherwise from the person who sent it. Either way, its for me. What is the purpose of the "+"; how will you use it? Doug.

There are various ways to do it, depending on what package management program you normally use. If you use apt-get (and therefore don't keep track of automatically installed packages), you can just use # dpkg --get-selections > dpkg-sel.txt and to install: # dpkg --set-selections < dpkg-sel.txt then apt-get. However, if you use aptitude and were to use the dpkg, you would lose the marking of Automatic or manually installed. As part of my backup script, I run: # aptitude search '~i!~M' > apt_inst.sel I don't know how to tell aptitude to install from this list. I'm on dialup and I wouldn't want it to. I install things in the order in which I need them on a new system; generally in broad categories: ppp, pppconf; mc, lynx; mutt, exim4; vim; etc.

Well, have your list of installed packages as part of your backup set. Then just try it. If it works, great. If not, it could be that the initrd needs rebuilding; try the install CD in rescue mode. Otherwise, reinstall and restore from backup. Doug.

Yes, a real spam blizzard has hit debian.user I'm using a newsreader (knode) and it's pretty easy to lose authentic messages in the crowd, but I really feel for the people who get this list via email. I hope your filters are working. Cheers, Jonathan -- Registerd Linux user #445917 at http://counter.li.org/

Sane *always* does this to me too! sane-find-scanner finds a scanner but nothing actually sees it. I just got my Epson V700 working, what I had to to was add the following line to /etc/sane.d/epson.conf:- usb 0x04b8 0x012c ... and comment everything else out. Obviously you need to put the values for your scanner there, that's "usb 0x04b8 0x0118". -- Chris Green

You sound like me to an extent. I run lots of command line under fvwm2. However I do have Gnome libraries installed as there are a number of Gnome applications that I use, thus if I need a file manager I use Nautilus. -- Chris Green End of debian-user-digest Digest V2007 Issue #2866 ************************************************** Received on Sun Nov 25 06:59:55 2007
