Sound card not working

From: Mike McCarty <Mike.McCarty(at)sbcglobal.net>
Date: Fri Jun 22 2007 - 02:58:18 EDT

I am administering (or attempting to, anyway) a Debian install on a machine a few years old. Debian is not recognizing the sound card for some reason. I do hear a "pop" during boot, so I suppose that something is recognizing and initing it to some degree, but no sounds. I have the output from dmesg as an attachment.

Anyone have some hints as to how to proceed?

Mike
