'file' doesn't recognize my Abiword .ode file

'file' reports just 'data' when queried about an Abiword .odt file. There's a bug here [0], but the discussion indicates that 'file' is reporting 'zip'. Do I have something misconfigured, or should I add my experience to the bug report?
