[OT] package for talking to usb device using visa protocol

Hopping that I didn't miss spell this, I am looking for a reference or preferably a library that would enable me to talk to a usb device that uses the vesa protocol. I found some info from national instruments that the device should be available under /dev but no code Will be grateful for any pointers
