There are also multiple forms of TIFF file -- TIFF is sort of a container format, a little like AVI, and more than one type of encoding can be used inside it. Not every reader can read every type. LZW compression is the most common, but I've seen others. Some Windows software produces JPEG-compressed TIFFs. Received on Wed Aug 8 17:13:59 2007
