unattended-upgrades

hi,

I just discovered the existence of unattended-upgrades for apt on debian. But I can't find any documentation for it (google gives me all ubuntu references, and not much of that with any detail). Is it safe to use on production machines? Should I just use it for security updates? Does it really never need manual intervention?

hopefully someone will now point me to the really obvious man page I missed and I will look embarassed ;-)

Graham
