Read manuals about mdadm and saw it has to do with
raid, which I don't have, so I deleted the mdadm package.
really an aptitude question.
I have installed new kernels with aptitude, but
ls -ltra /
... ...........initrd.img -> boot/initrd.img-2.6.8-3-386
