I would forget about the links at real.com, and instead, (assuming you're using Etch), add "deb http://www.debian-multimedia.org etch main" to your /etc/apt/sources.list file (either using synaptic to edit your repositories, or, as root, use an editor such as gedit or nano). Having done this, update, and then install realplayer.
