okay, this looks like it succeeded, so I'm not sure why you went through all the dpkg manual stuff, but okay. ...

The apt-get below looks like it succeeded, so I'm not sure what the problem is here. initrd got built, grub got updated. Looks successful to me.

I guess you should check the contents of /boot to confirm it's all okay, but I don't see any problems here.
