Well the subject says it all I have recently update libnss-ldap (there is a whole new set of ldap stuff as all the packages are linked against gnutls). I have file a bug report Bug#466610 against bash. zsh and getent passwd don't seem to suffer from the problem When i try this ls ~al I added some debuging printf's around a build static-bash, specifically in rl_username_completion_function. it seems to crash when asking for the next record and that next record I have seen this in zsh or getent passwd I do not see any problems. The last good version of libnss-ldap i had was 258-1, all versions past that I have seen this problem, again only in bash. so readers, how can I debug this further and has any one else seen this problem on their machines ? I have had a look at the libnss-ldap code and the change set is rather minor (although I have only looked at the diff not the resulting code). -- "We look forward to analyzing and working with legislation that will make—it would hope—put a free press's mind at ease that you're not being denied information you shouldn't see." - George W.
