linux-ipsec: freeswan version+libc5

i want to compile a new version of freeswan. last time i used snapshot 30 Aug. 98 (reps.. 8.9.98). meanwhile there is a
version 0.90 available. which version would you suggest? which version is more "bug free" or stable a current snapshot (which?) or 0.9?
are there any know problems on libc systems or should i use glibc?
