Hmm, yes, you're right... which means that Darryl would have to keep those out of his archive. (The problem is not so much that they might taint our code -- if their appearance in the list didn't cause any problems in that department, their appearance in an archive certainly wouldn't -- but that Darryl might be in export-law trouble for re-exporting such material.)

Basically correct. The problem with a fix from the list is that we'd have to make *sure* that it was unencumbered -- we can't just guess based on the author's address -- and it would have to be a substantial chunk of code to make this worthwhile. (Plus, as I recall, in at least some of the cases in question, there was no doubt that the author was within the US.)
