From: Sandy Harris <sandy.harris(at)sympatico.ca>
Date: Sun Oct 11 1998 - 18:56:25 EDT I'm not sure whether or when IPsec will need additional crypto algorithms. At some point, though, the AES standard which is being developed to replace DES may become relevant.
General AES info:
NIST (US gov't National Institute of Standards & Technology) have made two CDs available free if you fill in a form at: http://csrc.nist.gov/encryption/aes/round1/cdreq.htm CD 1 is the submitted documentation for the 15 proposed algorithms. CD 2 has reference implementations in C and is export controlled. People in the US & Canda can order it online, but not others. NIST will obtain the required export license for you if you fill out some forms accessible from the web page and are not from Iraq or Lybia or . . . -- Sandy Harris sandy.harris@sympatico.ca Help secure the Internet: http://www.cygnus.com/~gnu/swan.htmlReceived on Sun Oct 11 20:07:13 1998 This archive was generated by hypermail 2.1.8 : Wed Aug 23 2006 - 12:59:03 EDT |
