We had decent luck making the (then current snapshot) work properly on Slackware at the Binghamton bakeoff. Details: Slackware 3.4 distribution (now 3.5), kernel 2.0.34 (now .35). Most of the work involved quashing sundry red-hat-isms in the rc scripts and where the sundry system parameters were tucked away. By and large it was 'the usual' sort of thing.

If anyone is considering questing after install-script unification (or cursing at their current environment) I'll be glad to grind out some details.
