I found left & right to be very easy to use , I just looked at the picture of my network and it was obvious what was needed in the file...

Local & Remote would have been confussing as both machines were on the same desk :-) BUT Henry's point about the config file NOT needing to be customised for each machine is a very good idea and will make management in anything other than a trivial case much easier.
