Yeah, we don't test without debugging very often, so such things do creep in. At the moment, we simply don't recommend running the code without the debugging facilities, so it's not a high priority. Uh, no, it *appears* to work correctly. That can happen even if it is not in fact working right. Have you done tcpdump monitoring from a third machine to confirm that the packets on the wire are encrypted properly?
