linux-ipsec: Linux FreeS/WAN 0.91 is released
There is a new release of Linux FreeS/WAN IPSEC/IKE on the project
home page, release 0.91. This release has been tested and works much
better then previous releases.
While the team can't say all bugs are gone, the system should run a
VPN link for a month or two with out running into problems.
Please note that while this release is over all much better code,
the doc is in flux just now and is a bit hardder to follow. The
INSTALL file is simpler due to some of the complexity being moved to
the doc/vpn.how document.
The team thinks it's close to a feature freeze with the 0.91 for the
1.0 system. The current system does subnet VPN's well at all levels
and is close to doing 'extruded subnets' (only the scripting systems
does not do this).
The system should do 'host to host' just fine, but not yet mobile
hosts (and might not do this in 1.0 due to the extensions needed to
the IKE 'protoco;').
Feedback from the user community is welcome as to what you all need,
but remember that 1.0 has to come out someday and can't open your cats
food cans for you... :r)
Please grab the new release and try it out!
