I'd like to deploy Freeswan to a couple clients so that they can securely access a single private network over the internet. My plan is to put a small linux box at their site and then have one here with two NIC cards that connects the private network and the internet and only let them access the private network. This will also require some sort of authentication of the clients machine to our local box to ensure that they really are who they say they are before we start routing the traffic.
I chose Freeswan because I'd prefer to use IPSec. Before I go any further I want to ask those of you that have more experience with it, if it's stable enough to do something like this or if I should go with something like cipe or enskip in the meantime.
