I've thought about that... but it becomes an awkward "tail wags the dog" situation, where the instructions for adding our little bit of code to the kernel require that you build your kernel via our Makefile. That's fine for IPSEC developers, who naturally assume that the kernel revolves around them :-), but I'm reluctant to do it that way for general release. It seems unclean, especially since it requires embedded knowledge of things like which kernel configurer to use. (Most of these issues only come up the first time it's done, but we're trying to build a system where the average installer won't have to do it more than once...)

All suggestions welcome.
