I see from your .sig that you (mostly ?) use Linux. Do you have any experience with the OpenBSD stack (and, more relevant here, command line interface) ?

But be that as it may, I still don't like Bill's renaming suggestions, especially since I don't see how they make the interface any better or clearer (IMO, they make it more obscure). - -Angelos
