Yep, I'm listening, although I've been busy and have gotten a bit behind on this latest flurry of mail.

I'm not keen on #ifdef __KERNEL__, and want to explore a bit in hopes of finding alternatives, but it may be necessary. It had occurred to me that we might have to do that.
