Absolutely -- I agree. It's a nuisance the bit producers shouldn't have to know about.

Yup again. That's how the Mentat implementation deals with it also. I slam it to odd parity, check for weak keys, and complain only if I see them. I used to have an "#ifdef FASCIST" to enforce parity on others, and took it out.
