Ah, I've never used "ipsec manual" so the answer is NO :-)

The problem was that Hugh had missed a couple of my patches to pluto and thus md5 & sha1 were not working properly.

Now that is fixed I finally got to test his version of the fix to the alpha structure alignment problems I found. Sadly they dont work, but we had a chat on the phone yesterday about it and I'm working on a solution today.
