[Users] Interoperability between Freeswan 1.99 and Cisco 826

Hi everyone,

We would like to set up a VPN using a Cisco 826 ISDN ADSL router and a Linux Freeswan 1.99 as secure gateways. The interoperability documentation say with a PSK it should work and using RSA it might work.

Is there anyone who can give me any information (Freeswan ipsec.conf files, Cisco configuration scripts, links to web pages describing success of failure)?

I also have some questions from the Cisco guru that I should be able to answer:

He wants to know for IKE:
* encryption method

  • authentication method
  • key exchange
  • IKE SA liftime

He also wants to know for IPsec
* transform set (esp-3des)

Can anyone shine some light on this as I not familiar enough with technical english to translate the question to something I can find in the docs?
