The following connection should also accomplish this:

conn leftnet-rightgate

	left=80.58.129.14
	leftsubnet=10.129.25.0/24

You don't need to define "rightsubnet"; if it is omitted, you're assumed to be negotiating a tunnel for "right" itself.

As well, what are the strange errors you receive when you omit:

leftid=80.58.129.14

What version of FreeS/WAN are you running on both machines? Previously, we were theorizing that FreeS/WAN 1.96 might contain a bug that could confound renegotiation when a net-gate tunnel is in play. Using Debian 1.99 packages would rule that out.
