You'll see that you should expect 5 Mbit/s with a 133 - this is about what you're seeing.

Two solutions:

  1. You could double your throughput with the use of a different cipher - notably, we approximate that AES will give you double the performance.

To enable AES support in FreeS/WAN,yYou would need to apply the alg patch - http://www.irrigacion.gov.ar/juanjo/ipsec/ - or use SuperFreeS/WAN. However, that will only help the win98 clients, as I don't think the native win2k client supports AES.

2) Upgrade the box. :)
