Hello,

I have just installed this FreeSWan v1.99 for the kernel 2.4.7-10. The running Linux version is Redhat 7.2.

Now I have the problem to run Start the connection as described in the Online documentation <How to configure FreeS/Wan>. If I type <ipsec auto --start net-to-net> there comes the following error message:

ipsec auto: unknown option '--start'

How could I start a connection?

additional information:
1.)
The command <ipsec auto --status> gives: 000

000 "net-to-net": 192.168.0.0/16===172.16.0.5...172.16.0.1===10.0.0.0/16
000 "net-to-net":   ike_life: 3600s; ipsec_life: 28800s; rekey_margin:
540s; rekey_fuzz: 100%; keyingtries: 0
000 "net-to-net":   policy: RSASIG+ENCRYPT+TUNNEL+PFS; interface: ;
unrouted
000 "net-to-net": newest ISAKMP SA: #0; newest IPsec SA: #0; eroute owner: #0

000

2.)
The command <ipsec auto --verbose --up net-to-net> gives: 022 "net-to-net": we have no ipsecN interface for either end of this connection

ifconfig shows no ipsecN interface, ifconfig -a shows ipsec0 - ipsec3

Do you need help?X

3.)
ipsec.conf looks like:
...
# myVPN connection
conn net-to-net

# Left security gateway, subnet behind it, next hop toward
right.

        left=172.16.0.5
        leftsubnet=192.168.0.0/16
        leftnexthop=172.16.0.1

# Right security gateway, subnet behind it, next hop toward
left. right=172.16.0.1 rightsubnet=10.0.0.0/16 rightnexthop=172.16.0.5
# To authorize this connection, but not actually start it, at
startup,
# uncomment this.
auto=add

best regards and many thanks in advance, Jan
