thanks a load, I tried this before and the result is consitent with my first tries:

Jan  1 06:05:50 wrap ipsec__plutorun: ...could not add conn "gatekeeper-wrap"
Jan  1 06:05:50 wrap ipsec__plutorun: 021 no connection named "gatekeeper-wrap"
Jan  1 06:05:50 wrap ipsec__plutorun: ...could not route conn "gatekeeper-wrap"
Jan  1 06:05:50 wrap ipsec__plutorun: 021 no connection named "gatekeeper-wrap"
Jan  1 06:05:50 wrap ipsec__plutorun: ...could not start conn "gatekeeper-wrap"

I copied the key from the ipsec showhostkey output, looks like it does not like the format.
