[Users] Assingning non lan ip addresses w freeswan/l2tpd

My name is Teo Romera. I'm trying to make my freeswan/l2tpd server work for winxp/2000 clients., but i'm still quite a newbie. My question is... can i assing non lan ip addresses (10.0.0.0/8 172.16.0.0/12 192.168.0.0/16), but public ip addresses to the ppp interfaces that l2tpd sets up for the windows clients? ie. can i use public addresses in 'ip range=xxxxxxx' at l2tpd.conf? I've tried, but it seems to cause troubles with arp, that i can't troubleshoot by miself. I need the winxp/2000 clients to gain access to some services. These services will only work if the clients show up an address in a specific range of public internet addresses. Is freeswan/l2tpd suitable for this? if it is not, is there any other solution?
