answer: yes.
That's not really a FreeSWAN question. Once you have the tunnel set up
properly then all the appropriate traffic will go back and forth.
Where you might need to look if you have connection problems is
1. the firewall rules.
2. the samba configuration - especially if the samba server is also the
same machine as the public gateway. In that case Samba should be configured
to only listen to certain IP addresses and perhaps interfaces, so you might
need to change those.
3. authentication. depends how you have the local network set up: if you use
a
windows PDC for example. Also depends on the "client" software.
The inbuilt windows 2k/XP stuff is rather basic. I think the functionality
is
better (more transparent) if you add the L2TP layer, but it is more work to
set up.
